PECO Cross Country Relay & Junior Relay (Middleton Park, Leeds) Sunday 8th March 2026
This year’s PECO Relay and Junior Relay races will take place at Middleton Park, Leeds on Sunday 8th March.
Start times will be 10.00am for the Junior Relay and 11.00am for the Senior Relay.
Both races are for teams of 3 runners, each running the same lap (2.6 miles approx. for Seniors; 1.2 mile approx. for Juniors).
These races are open ONLY to runners who have entered at least one race in the regular PECO XC season and therefore already have a PECO XC Chip Timing Bib Tag (Race Number).
Entry for the relays is online only via RaceBest: There will be no charge for team entries this year!
Senior Relay: https://racebest.com/races/yyhg7
Junior Relay: https://racebest.com/races/5cc35
IMPORTANT: Before you enter your team, you will need to know the PECO race number of each member of the team and have decided on your running order. In order to minimize the number of changes to be made to the timing files on the day, do not enter until you are sure that all team members are available to run, and are happy with your chosen running order! However, you will be able access and edit your team entry information (i.e. team members, team category and/or running order) up until the end of the day on Weds 4th March.

Car Parking
There is a small car park close to the visitor Centre at Middleton Park, but this is likely to be full by the time you arrive, so you are recommended not to drive down the access road only to discover that there are no spaces available! There is plenty of on street parking on and around Town Street (please park safely, legally and with due consideration for local residents). There is car parking available at the John Charles Centre for Sport, but this is a good mile away from Race HQ, so you will need to allow at least 20 minutes to walk over if you decide to park there.
Senior Relay (Purple Route)
Each League Member Club may enter a SINGLE Club Representative Team, consisting of one M runner, one F runner and one Vet 40+ runner (note that you cannot count a FV40+ runner as both your F and your V40+ team member!). In addition, clubs may enter as many teams as they like in the following categories:
M Open
F Open
Mixed (at least 1 M & 1 F runner)
Male Vets (all 3 runners aged 40 and above)
Female Vets (all 3 runners aged 40 and above)
Male Super Vets (all 3 runners aged 50 and above)
Female Super Vets (all 3 runners aged 50 and above)
As we are using relay batons with embedded timing chips to time the Senior Relay, it is not essential for all runners to wear their PECO race numbers on the day.
Junior Relay (Orange Route)
Clubs may enter as many teams as they like in the following categories. Note that younger runners may run in older teams as required:

Under 9 Girls (all 3 runners under 9 on 31/08/2025 (usually school years 2-4); all 3 runners must be girls)

Although we are using relay batons with embedded timing chips to time the Junior Relay, all runners MUST wear their PECO race numbers whilst taking part. This is for identification and safeguarding purposes: if a runner has lost his / her PECO number, we will issue a replacement race number at Registration on the morning of the race. There will be no charge for replacement numbers.
