Registration: The race HQ will be set up in The Stable Courtyard area, at Home Farm. The junior race is £1 and the senior race will be £2 (no food will be available; see notes below). Registration will be open from 9.00am – 9.45am for juniors, 9.00 – 10.45am for seniors. There will also be toilets available at the registration area in the Stable Courtyard. The café will also be open early for the race, opening at 9am.
Car Parking: There are several car parks available for our use in the grounds of Temple Newsam. We are advising runners to use the free car park near Home Farm (car park 4 on the car park map). This is accessed by taking the left hand fork after entering the main gates to the park. car park 1 is available if arriving from A64 York Rd Other car parks are available if these becomes full, but take note that the car park nearest the house (car park 3) is pay and display.
The Course: See course maps below. The start and finish are in front of the house on the large field. Due to a few muddy sections, we would advise runners to wear trail shoes or studs (the course is not suitable for spikes). It is a multi-terrain undulating course, with a mixture of trail, grassy sections and woodland paths. There are some steep ascents and descents. Some sections that can get very muddy with possible standing water if there has been a lot of rain, and through woodland areas, there are exposed tree roots, and leaves underfoot.
After The Race: Post race refreshments: due to refurbishments, no rooms will be available for refreshments. This decision was taken by Temple Newsam, and Rothwell Harriers have no control over it. You will still be able to purchase food and drink at the cafe in the courtyard. For those of you who may prefer something a little stronger, you are welcome to join us for a post-race pint in The Brown Cow (on Selby Road, at the top of Colton Road).
Results will be published as soon as possible on the League web site.
